eight point two

What could I sell on Etsy?

  • Slug bate - just add watter

  • Reclaimed yarns

  • Felted electronic cozies
  • Eco-friendly laundry soap
  • I could write a booklet about living a eco-friendly lifestyle in the "big city"
  • Hand knitted socks, arm warmers, and wrist bands.
  • Vegi. plant seeds
  • Hand embroidered eye pillows
  • Hand spun slub yarn

Or is it just a silly idea?

Would anyone buy these things?

Hi, thanks for visiting my blog and leaving a comment.

I listed two sets of that Clematis yarn today and both flew away very quickly. Will have to dye some more, I'm thinking.

You could certainly try a shop at etsy. It's pretty low risk. Free to set up, and cheap to list, etc. It can take a while and a lot of effort to begin to sell, but there are lots of tips available in the forums.

Eco-friendly/recycled/vegan are popular topics over there. Knitted items are offered, but sell poorly (really too bad), unless they are smaller things like hand/wrist warmers and the like. I think a few people offer recycled yarn. You'd have to check their shops to see how well it sells. I haven't tracked it.

Nice, hand-spun yarn is always in demand. Some etsy sellers dye beautiful rovings and sell them quite reasonably, and other etsy spinners spin them up and sell them spun. Now that's networking.
