Goldie

Painted him for a friend.

First time using caput mortuum (beautiful rich, granulating opaque watercolour, earth red) but I lost some of the glow so I used some gold paint to give him back some shine before the final layer.

I tried a thing, it kind of worked.

I love that your chickens always show personality. That's the thing that really stands out on Goldie, at least to me as a viewer. The colors and how they present an impression of Goldie all contribute to that.

You've got me thinking about the difference in how creators and viewers see things. I don't know if it's true for others, but when I look at a piece as its creator, I examine it critically. When I examine something as a viewer, I respond to how it makes me feel.
